The Student Council is a committee of over 25 students, representing each form across every year group of our student body.
The council meets regularly every half term, to discuss current issues and actions for development in school and our local community.
The Charities Committee was founded by Mrs Magee and a wonderful group of Year 7 students during 2013. Over the last 10 years, we have been proud to support many local and national charities, as well as funding in-school initiatives to support our students.
Every year, we endeavour to engage students in fundraising activities for charity through bake sales, non-uniform events, sponsored walks and runs, fancy dress and fayres. We are always on the lookout for new members and are proud to have such strong support from our students.
Student Leadership Award
The Student Leadership Award, accredited by the SSAT aims to develop students’ skills in leadership, encouraging them to become more involved in the school and local community whilst also developing their employability skills.
We are proud to be part of this innovative and inclusive scheme, with all years from 8-11 working on Bronze, Silver and Gold; whilst years 5-7 build some strong foundations with our very own Walney School led programme.
